I've loved the ocean since I was a young child and my family spent summers at the New Jersey shore. I have fond memories of awakening early in the morning and heading down to the beach with my father for a swim. The water was cold and the beach was bright. I can still visualize that ocean sparkling in the early morning sunlight.
My medium is acrylic on rag paper. My goal is to express the movement and flow of water and to depict the ocean’s expansiveness and depth. In order to do so I use a 15" square format and group the paintings in a grid or string them in a row to create panoramic vistas.
